LSD Workshop: KDB Public School, Ghaziabad


A total of 34 students were trained in a workshop on Dec 26th, 2015 at LSD-IAMR. Senior scientists and Professors provided a series of lectures before starting experiments. Students learned new technologies in the field of Biotechnology & Microbiology. They thanked to LSD-IAMR for providing such an opportunity!

IAMR, Ghaziabad organized one day workshop for school students on "Innovations and panoramas in Biotechnology and Microbiology “on December 19th, 2015. The workshop was exclusively designed for school students pursing course in biology. This workshop provided a unique opportunity for students to get introduced to the field of Biotechnology and Microbiology. The workshop included lecture on basics as well as recent advancement in Biotechnology and Microbiology followed by hands on training to practice the earned knowledge. This workshop provided them with an opportunity to visit the laboratories in the Department of life science.

Topic : Instructional design awareness program


Guest : Mr. Arjun Gaur (Co-Founder & CEO), Mr. Alok Jha (Director) and Ms. Priya

The students of M.Tech Biotechnology, MSc Biotechnology, and MSc Microbiology attended Instructional Design Awareness Program (IDAP), organized by the Department of Life science. The topic of this program was Instruction design. All the faculty members and students were present at the department auditorium and lectures were delivered by Mr. Arjun Gaur (Co-Founder & CEO), Mr. Alok Jha (Director) and Ms. Priya on the above mentioned topic. Students focused on development of communication and other soft skills in the session and they learnt about the development of leadership quality and personality development. At the end of the session, Dr. Alok Gupta, Head of the Life science, IAMR, motivated students for getting their goals in profession life and students thanked the department of Life science for organizing this awareness program.

Topic : Trends and Technique in Biotechnology and Microbiology


Guest : Dr.Namita A.Singh

On February 12TH AND 13TH workshop was organized in department of lifescience. Techniques such as PCR, ELISA , PAGE were performed by students and were demonstrated about the techniques. Lecture on dairy techniques was delivered by Dr.Namita A.Singh, lecture on fermentation was delivered by Dr. Gupteshwar gupta, Er.Medhavi Singhal delivered lecture on immunology. Many students from various colleges participated in the workshop.

Two days conference, entitled” International conference on Life science and Bioengineering” was organized by department of life sciences. The chief Guest of the conference was Prof. Rajendra Kumar, DG UP Council of agriculture research and the Guests of Honour were Prof. HS Gaur, VC Sardar Vallabh Bhai patel University; Prof. PK Gupta, Emertious Prof. CCS University Meerut; Prof. YD Sharma, Head Department of Biotechnology, AIIMS New Delhi, Prof. BN Mishra, Head Department of Biotechnology, IET Lucknow.The inaugural address was given by Eme. Prof. PK Gupta and the keynote address was given by Prof. Ju suk nam , Research Professor, Hallym University, south Korea. Prof. Roy P from IIT Roorkie, Prof. PC Sharma, Indraprasth University; Prof. MU Chaurya, CCS university; Dr. Ashok Kumar, IGIB new Delhi; Dr. Trithesh Sharma, BBC Jhansi; Prof. Y Vimla, CCS university; Dr. Veena Gupta, NBPGR, New Delhi; Dr. Vinay Sharma, Banasthali Vidyapeeth Rajasthan; Dr. Anju Pal, GB Pant University; Dr. Ashish Ranjan Sharma, Hallym University, south Korea were the invited speakers for the conference.

Topic : Biofest Genetix -12


Guest : . Y. Vimla (Eminent Scientist from CCS University, Meerut)

Summary : On November 23rd 2012, Biofest-Genetix is being organised by the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology of IAMR College, Ghaziabad, with a leitmotif of promoting research and innovation in various fields of Biosciences and Bioengineering. With diverse range of events, this biofest aims at involving scientists and students. This event was envisaged to provide a unique platform to the participants from various academic institutions to share their thoughts and views to develop possible linkages among them. Our honorable chief guest was Professor, Y. Vimala, Eminent Scientist from CCS University, Meerut. Secretary of IAMR Group of Institutions, Mr. Sanjay Bansal, Dean of Biotechnology department, Prof. Vinay Dwivedi and HOD of Biotechnology department, Dr. Babita Sharma chaired the program. The program was addressed by Mr. Sanjay Bansal followed by inspiring words of Prof. Y. Vimala. Students from various institutes of Ghaziabad, Meerut, Noida and Panchsheel Nagar participated in this Biofest. The programme included the following events:

After the entire events our chief guest Prof. Y.Vimala shared her views with the participants and encouraged them for their leading bright career in the field of biological sciences. At the end of the “Biofest Gentix -12” prizes were distributed to the winners by Prof. Y. Vimala and the ceremony was closed with great success. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Babita Sharma.


Topic : Bioinformatics Workshop


Venue : IAMR, Ghaziabad

The Student of M.Tech Biotechnology 8th Sem , 6th Sem and MSc Biotechnology and Microbiology had attended Bioinformatics workshop organized by the Department of Biotechnology wherein the Topic was 3 D Molecular Visualization of Protein through a Rastop Analytic Software. All the faculty members and Students were present at the Conference Hall and Lecture was delivered by Tauquir Faiyyaz on the above mentioned topic. Students had focused deliberately on the demonstration of the Rastop Software and they learnt much more about the software and after that they practice session was also conducted in the software lab and they practicied well in software. At the end of the session students were refreshed and thanks to the department of Biotechnology for organizing Bioinformatics workshop.

Topic : Biofest Genetix -12


On March 16th, The Institute of Applied Medicines and Research, Duhai, Gzb.(NCR) sponsored the Biofest Genetix -12. The Biofest was open to the other college participants and approximately 250 people were in attendance. During the Biofest, attendees shared opinions, thoughts and suggestions for consideration during the upcoming Genetix -12. The keynote speaker was Professor A. K. Shrivastav, Eminent Scientist From the CCS University, Meerut, Joint Secretary, IAMR Group of Institutions Mrs. Anshu Bansal, Director Tushar Kanti, Dean Prof. S.N. Laharia. The Chief Guest Professor A. K. Shrivastav shared his immense Knowledge on Genetically Modified Food with all participants. Shri Sanjay Bansal and Mrs. Anshu Bansal shared their views regarding the Institute progression and the cultivation of Budding Biotechnologist.

The 4th national conference was inaugurated by Prof. P. Anand Kumar, Project Director, NRCPB, ICAR. Prof. Santosh Kumar, Ex- Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Ex- Vice Chancellor, Dr. H.S.Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, Former President-Indian Science Congress Association, Chairman- National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and Dr. K. C. Bansal, Director-National Bureau of Plant genetic Resources, New Delhi were the chief guest. The 3rd National Conference was addressed by Prof. P. C. Sharma (G.G.S. I.P. University, New Delhi), Prof. Subhash Chand (IIT, New Delhi), Prof. Vinay Sharma (Vansthali Vidhyapeeth, Rajasthan), Prof. Saleem Javed (Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi), Prof. P. K.
