IAMR students at PHD Chamber, New Delhi
LSD-IAMR students participated in the employment generation and entrepreneurship development program, organized by Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Association (ESDA) on Jan, 23rd 2016 in Delhi. The seminar was focused on the latest action plan ' start up India & make in India' and it encouraged the youth to build up entrepreneurship skills and bring up ideas to start their own enterprises & firms. Eventually, it can reduce un-employment in India. Dr Kiran Bedi (An Indian politician & Social activist), Shri Shyam Jaju (National Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party) & Shri Chirag Paswan (Indian politician, Lok Janshakti Party and a Bollywood actor) were present in this program. Students thanked to IAMR for providing such an opportunity.
NPL Scientific trip
LSD-IAMR, Ghaziabad organized a lab visit for the students of M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Microbiology. The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is the National metrology Institute of India & a premier Research Laboratory in the Field of physical science. LSD students thanked to the department for organizing such an inspiring scientific tour and before this trip, students mentioned that they had no clue how cryo-electron microscopy works. It was very mind opening for students and they were exposed to different choices that are available for them.
Industrial visit to Paras Dairy Sahibabad
An industrial visit was organized for the students of M.Sc. Microbiology and Biotechnology on 24th April, 2015. A total of 15 students were explored to the Paras Dairy, Sahibabad. They were given the knowledge of milk pasteurization, homogenization, sterilization techniques and quality testing at the company campus. Paras Dairy has different products according to the daily nutritional requirements based on different age group of the peoples (eg. Lite milk, Active milk, UHT milk, dahi, Chhena Kheer etc). They were also exposed to the different sites of production, packing and quality control department. At the end of the visit, students were refreshed with dahi cups. They thanked to Paras Dairy for its generosity and also thanked to Dr. Alok Gupta, Head of Life science for organizing such an enjoyable scientific visit. This event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Namita A. Singh .
CST-UP in promotion of Science & Technology and Facilitation of IPR Protection
One day seminar on role of CST-UP in promotion of Science & Technology and Facilitation of IPR Protection was held on March 18, 2015 at Brihashpati Bhawan, Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut (UP). Students of M.Sc Microbiology and Biotechnology attended the seminar. Dr. S.S. Gaurav was an organizing secretary. Dr. Shashi Rana, Joint Director, CST- UP, Lucknow introduced the seminar. Prof. Dr. H.S. Singh, Pro Vice- Chancellor, C.C.S. University, Meerut and Mr. Puran Chandra, General Manager (Finance), BSNL (West) Circle was the guest of Honour. Presidential Remarks was given by Sh. V.C. Goel (IPS), Vice- Chancellor, C.C.S. University, Meerut. In technical session, latest developments in IPR, Patent and Industrial Design Protection in India and abroad, Opposition in Patents, Highlights of the programme of CST- UP, framing research proposals, was discussed.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO MOON BEVERAGES , SAHIBABAD, GHAZIABAD.
An Industrial visit was organized for M.Sc , M.Tech & PGDM students to MOON BEVERAGES on 20th February,2015. Students got exposure towardsthe practical end of their theoretical subjects. It was a big unit with various high tech machineries, which worked right from preparation of liquid medium to packaging in bottles. The visit proved to be very effective & efficient for students of various programmes who participated in it.
MMother Dairy, New Delhi
An industrial visit was successfully organized on 12th December, 2012 for the students of M.Sc. Microbiology I, III semester, B.Sc. Biotech and Microbiology III Year. Total 50 students were explored to the Mother Dairy, New Delhi. At the company campus they were given the knowledge about milk clarification, pasteurization, homogenization, sterilization techniques and quality testing. They have also been exposed to the different sites of processing and Research and Development department. During their visit they have also been guided by Mr. Ravindra about the adulteration and nutritional testing methods. Besides this the query of the students has also entertained and resolved. At the end of the visit students were refreshed with flavored milk and ice-cream. They enjoyed a lot and thanks to Mother Diary for its generosity.

Daurala Sugars, Daurala
The Students of M.Sc. Biotech II sem and M.Sc Microbiology II Sem visited the Distillery unit of Daurala sugars, Daurala. They saw the production of alcohol from molasses. It was based on the property of some specific microorganisms in metabolizing the sugar content of molasses into alcohol. This activity was generally termed as fermentation. The process was involved in the following stages:
- Weighment of molasses and clarification
- Propagation of Yeast and prefermentation
- Fermentation of molasses
- Effluent treatment
India Africa S & T Ministers Conference and Tech Expo, Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi
Our Studetns and professors visited the conference which was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Hon'ble Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, Dr. T. Ramasami, Secretary - DST, H.E. Professor Jean Pierre, Commissioner, HR S & T, Africian Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Aswani Kumar Hon'ble Minister of State for Science & Technology and Planning, Govt. of india, H.E. Dr. Nadia Eskander Zakhary, Honble Minister of Scientific Research of Arab Republic of Egypt and H.E. Smt. Preneet Kaur, Honble Minister of State for External Affairs. Students also visited TechExpo and Learned about new technologies. There were counter from different states viz. Punjab, Haryana, Kerla, Tamilnadu, Delhi and others and CSIR labs counters also present which was very informative.
NBPGR, New Delhi
Department also organized a visit to NBPGR, New Delhi to students of Int. M Tech Biotechnology IX Semester in the month of September. Students interacted with Dr. Veena Gupta and get familiar with technical aspect of sophisticated analytical instruments viz HPLC, HPTLC, GLC and RT-PCR.
Mother Dairy, New Delhi
On the auspicious day of Teacher's Day i.e. on 5th September 2011, an industrial vist was successfully organised for the students of Integrated M.Tech. Biotechnology VIII Semester. About 40 students were explored to the Mother Dairy, New Delhi. At the company campus they were given the knowledge about fermentation, processing of milk, and sterilization techniques. They have also been exposed to the differennt sites of processing and Research and Development departmetn. During their visit they have also been guided by M.Ravindra about the adulteration and nutritional testing methods. Besides this the query of the students has also entertained and resoloved. Synergy Waste Private Limited, New Delhi
Industrial visit was organized synergy waste private limited New Delhi for the students of M.Sc III BioTech and Int M Tech Biotech VII Sem. Mr Ravi Sharma, demonstrated the instruments used in disposal of hazardous waste in a suitable means and consumption of it in to a source of energy.
Jamia Hamdard Univesity, New Delhi
A visit was organized on 21st December 2010 to Jamia Hamdard University for M.Tech. VII Integrated Biotechnology. The visit was organised in order to let the students understand the basic instrumentation techniques related to Biotechnology. During the visit sutdetns came to understand the principles and working of various instruments such as lyophilizer (utilized for lyophilization), ELISA reader (for performing ELISA technique), Spectromphotometer (single and double beam), milli-Q filtration unit, 2-D electrophoresis for analysis of proteins, gel-documentation system, particle bombardment machinegun, electron weighing blace (highly sensible for weighing upto microgram quantity) CHNOS analyser. Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, HPCL, HP-TLC (analytical instrument instrument), RT-PCR, Scintillation counter, etc.)
National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal, Haryana
Institute had organized an Educational tour to NDRI, Karnal for the students of M.Sc. Microbiology III Semester. Their Dr. Chand Ram showed them the experimental dairy plant later Dr. Surjeet showed the National Collection of Dairy Culture and also demonstrated the technique for the formation of ampoules for preservation of microbial culture. Dr. Naresh Goel demonstrated the technique about the identification of pathogens and how to keep the microorganism away and Dr. Tomar explained about the electron microscopy and how to make sections to see the internal structure of a cell. Next they headed to molecular biology division where Dr. Sunita Grover explained about DNA fingerprinting, disease diagnosis using specific probe. At last they went to biotechnology division where Dr. Chawan demonstrated the technique for in –vitro fertilization and also explain about the technique by which the have developed Garima at NDRI.
